Los Angeles may or may not be the capital of cumbia outside of Mexico, but one of the best cumbia bands stateside, by far is Chicha Libre. I generally like cumbia, I don’t absolutely love it, but Chicha Libre’s music challenges me on this notion, and I’m real close to absolutely loving Chicha Libre-style cumbia. [...]
