Tax Day Deals – In Your Face, Unkie Sam!

Posted by Trisha, Apr 14, 2010

Chances are you’re one of those who procrastinates on your taxes till the day is long, dawdling around, lolling on the green grass, soaking up the sun in March like you don’t have a care in the world. Then, maybe yesterday, you remembered that YOU FORGOT YOUR TAXES!!!

STRESS!! Thankfully, your neighborhood corporations realize that rewards are so much sweeter the harder you work for them, and a select few are graciously offering freebies and deals tomorrow, the Day of Tax.

First of all, there’s Starbucks. The deal is that you can go in with your own gosh-darn mug and they’ll fill it with deliciously free coffee. Be sure to get there early to beat the rush of over-stressed, under-prepared taxpayers filling up like there’s no tomorrow in preparation for a long day of doing taxes. We’re hoping there’s a separate line for accountants.

If there’s a Cinnabon near you, between the hours of 6pm and 8pm, you can get two free bite-sized cupcakes as part of their Tax Day Bites promotions…..I guess every little bit of money-saving helps.

Boston Market is doing a buy-one, get-one meal deal Thursday – Sunday. You have to show the coupon, though. PF Chang’s is offering 15% off all food, excluding take out and happy hour, and McCormick and Schmick’s is doing a clever little $10.40 deal for bar patrons: $10.40 deals on dinner and drinks, and a certificate worth $10.40 for future use if you come in on Thursday. They’re also showing tax preparers who have to work until midnight some loveĀ  – those workhorses get a desert on the house and a $10.40 gift certificate if they show a business card on Friday.

IHOP lets you celebrate your little tax deductions all month, with a free kid’s meal for every adult meal purchased from 4pm – 10pm. If you happen to have three or more kids, either make it a family party or simply choose your favorite kid.

Tacos Del Mar offer free tacos with the website coupon, and Jamba Juice has a buy-one-get-one deal until April 25 – because the pain of tax day can last up to ten days. Soldier on, accountants and tax preparers, soldier on!
