The Perch is the New Must

Picture from Curbed LA. Watch out Standard Rooftop Bar, Perch has two levels!

After a lease dispute ended the local favorite wine bar The Must (located in the Historic Core), owners Coly Den Haan and Rachel Thomas are back with a French-themed bar The Perch, this time, (perhaps to symbolize their comeback reaching for the sky) is high overlooking the beautiful historic core.

For me, it was like they say in the movies, “it was love at first sight.” The Perch is located on the top to floors of the Pershing Square Building across from the square on 5th and Hill. Yes, it is actually two levels of a rooftop bar! With DTLA’s gorgeous skyline, rooftop bars will never get old in my book.

With sleek glass windows lining the horizon and waitresses in tailored French maid looking outfits, The Perch is classic Downtown niore with a French twist. The skyline is especially breath-taking because like the Standard Hotel, the neighboring buildings engulf it making you feel so small but right in the middle of the city action. It feels like a little piece of New York and Pershing Square, a mini central park. With large brick fire places and a number of comfortable outdoor lounge couches, I can see the Perch being a place to be and be seen all year round.

Their cocktail menu is nothing short of delicious, here’s a sneak peak!

The Perch is set to open it’s doors next week July 28th.
